Remember, the Apple and its latest iPhone ‘firmware update 1.1.1’? Yes, the one software that created a much fuss. This software locked all the iPhone that were preciously hacked or unlocked.
iPhone is supposed to be the best platform for all the mobile hackers. Therefore, all more experiments were carried on the iPhone by hacking. In addition, many iPhone unlocking softwares were released that enabled an iPhone user to use other service providers other than the AT&T for the iPhone. This also benefited all the iPhone users outside the
US. Therefore a step ahead to curb this practice of iPhone hacking or iPhone unlocking, Apple released the new iPhone update software known as the ‘iPhone firmware update version 1.1.1’, that had the capacity of locking or bricking all the iPhone that had undergone tampering before. This really worked and many iPhone were reported bricked after updating this software.
This clearly indicated the number of iPhone that were locked due to hacking or unlocking. After a brief survey, Apple stated that almost around “1.4 million” iPhone had got unlocked and hacked. This sums up to round about 18% of the total number of iPhone sold. Quite shocking. Still the exact number is unknown as many of the unlocked iPhone can also be “around the globe”. Nevertheless, atleast now we are having the slightest idea of the actual number. Quite a lot in number suppose.
